Veterinary Assistant and Registered Apprentice
Ben has been working with us since April of 2014, and has been working as a Veterinary Assistant since 2001. He chose to start taking classes relating to the Veterinary Technician career during high school and knew that this was the career he wanted to do for the rest of his life! He has always been great with both kids and pets, so it came naturally for him. His career goal is to complete the Veterinary Technician’s Program, that he is currently enrolled in, through Penn Foster and becoming a Registered Veterinary Technician. He is currently certified as a Cat Friendly Veterinary Professional (CFVP) through the American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP). Ben is also Fear Free Certified and is a Registered Apprentice at Family Pet Veterinary Center.
Ben has two cats at home, Gobbler and Hugh, and he takes great care of them both. Ben enjoys spending quality time with our clinic cats but it's pretty obvious that Leo is his favorite! He can often be seen playing, petting, and brushing Leo to make sure he looks his absolute best! They share a very special bond!
In his free-time, Ben enjoys skateboarding, camping and fishing and especially enjoys spending time at his family owned cabin. Ben has a huge heart for animals but he especially adores cats and miniature schnauzers. Ben recommends that any new pet parent make sure to be financially prepared prior to getting a pet and to also research the cost of care that the specific pet would need over their expected lifespan.
